Linda is currently Strategic Director for DanceXchange, a dance house dedicated to creating exciting opportunities for people from all walks of life to experience dance as participants, performers and audience members. She was previously Managing Director of The Public – a fabulous building set in an area of high deprivation and with a mission to raise aspirations and life chances. Over the five years it operated it became a well used and loved part of West Bromwich attracting over 250,000 visitors in the final six months.
Prior to managing The Public, Linda worked in public libraries for twenty-five years. She was actively involved at a national level chairing the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway medal panels, the national committee for the Association of Senior Education and Children’s Librarians and was a member of the national committee for the Society of Chief Librarians.
Her passions have always been to give young people opportunities to achieve their aspirations and to empower the most disadvantaged groups by giving them the tools to empower themselves – be they reading or the arts and creativity.
