A group of men in 70s clothes stand in a line, the one at the front reading a newspaper and the man behind him using crutches. Behind them is a brick wall covered in posters for various music gigs.

About Disability On Film: Sex & Drugs & Rock'n'Roll

A fast and furious biopic of late British singer-songwriter Ian Dury, Sex & Drugs & Rock’n’ Roll stars Andy Serkis as Dury, who contracted polio at the age of ten but overcame the debilitating effects of the disease and went on to become one of the founders of the new wave music scene in Britain in the 1970s.

Unsentimental and featuring a blistering performance from Serkis, Mat Whitecross’s film is a tribute to a man who defied all expectations.
