About One Life: In Conversation With Lia Lesser

Join us for a very special screening of One Life, which tells the story of how Nicholas Winton embarked on an ambitious Kindertransport project to save 669 predominantly Jewish children during WWII.

We will be joined after the film by 92 year old Lia Lesser, who arrived in Britain from Prague in 1939 on one of the kindertransports organised by Winton. She was fostered and went to school in Anglesey, then moved to Birmingham where she had a nursing career and has remained ever since. Her parents and other close family perished in the Holocaust.

Lia will be in conversation with Nick Lampert, volunteer with the Association of Jewish Refugees, and will be discussing her experiences as well as her fond memories of Winton.
