About Television/Death

How are death and dying represented on television, and how can television ‘bring back the dead’? Film and TV studies expert Helen Wheatley (author of the forthcoming book Television/Death) visits Square Eyes to reveal how TV can provide us with emotionally realistic representations of grief, bereavement and death-related trauma, and how it can offer us access to the dead.

This event also includes a screening of the 2011 BBC documentary Terry Pratchett: Choosing To Die, which saw Terry Pratchett - who had Alzheimer's - travel to the Dignitas Clinic in Switzerland and witnesses first-hand the procedures for assisted death
