About DOF: The Peanut Butter Falcon

Featuring a superb turn from Zack Gottsagen (making his feature debut), The Peanut Butter Falcon is a modern Mark Twain-esque adventure starring Shia LeBeouf as a small time outlaw turned unlikely coach who joins forces with Zak, a young man with Down Syndrome on the run from a nursing home who has a dream - to become a professional wrestler.

Programmer Conor O’Donovan will be introducing this screening as part of his continuing Disability On Film (DOF) season, which looks to examine and interrogate the representation of disabled people on screen over the decades.

Disability on film (DOF)

This screening forms part of a season of films from our Expanding The Frame initiative, which look at how disabled people have been portrayed on screen.

The season is put together by Conor O’Donovan, a guest programmer with lived experience of disability who is keen to get audiences to think beyond the usual tropes.
