About Textile Textures and Stitched Mixed Media (Summer)
In this practical hands-on course will learn how to create interesting textile textures and discover how to incorporate stitched mixed media to make your textile art work unique.
What will you learn on this course?
You will be able to experiment with a large variety of materials, such as paper, plastic, fabric, wool, threads, metal, found materials and so much more. You will learn how to transform these materials in many ways through manipulation such as folding, wrapping then weaving, layering, cutting, scrunching and painting.
This is a relaxed, fun course which allows you to explore and play with mixed media materials and techniques and to give you the confidence to develop your ideas further. You will deepen your approach to successful textile design and making whilst developing your own visual language and personal style.
During the course, your Artist Tutor will demonstrate techniques, supported with examples to give you ideas and inspiration. Each lesson is a continuation from the previous one. Step by step, you will build skills and techniques.
Students will undertake practical exercises to learn, and apply the techniques with individual guidance and support from the tutor.
