About Young Filmmakers Club with Reel Access (Summer)

Do you have a passion for film, drama, and digital media? Join the Young Filmmakers Club to develop new skills in filmmaking and acting for screen to pursue your own exciting, creative ideas.

What will you learn on this course?

This course will give you an insight into the process, techniques and skills involved in making a film. Each term the content and structure of the course is decided by the group, which sees students generating ideas together and collaboratively working to produce a film.

During the course, you will have the chance to work as a writer, actor, director, and crew member, which enables you to learn and experience a range of filmmaking skills.

The tutor will guide the group through the entire process, from the initial generation of ideas to shooting and editing. There will be a special screening of the work produced on the course for invited family and friends.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for children aged 11-18 years. It is open to all ability levels.

The course may be accessible for people with disabilities who can participate in theatre activities. Parents are not expected to accompany children on these courses. All our staff are DBS checked. We provide a learning support worker and a parent or carer may assist their child if required. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to take into account key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

Do you need to bring anything?

Please bring a memory stick so that you can take your work home.
