The Small Back Room

A dark, intimate follow up to The Red Shoes, The Small Back Room reunites David Farrar and Kathleen Byron from Black Narcissus as an alcoholic bomb disposal expert and his long-suffering colleague and lover. The film perfectly captures the look and mood of postwar London, and was pioneering in its portrayal of a condition yet to be understood as posttraumatic stress disorder.

The screening will be followed by a live onstage panel hosted by the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy.
