Event Information

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog Toto are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road towards the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) that needs a brain, a Tin Man (Jack Haley) missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) who wants courage.

From Dorothy’s (Judy Garland) wistful ballad Over the Rainbow – where she dreams of life away from her dreary home – to the adventures along Oz’s Yellow Brick Road, every aspect of this classic film holds a special place in the public consciousness, and now audiences can experience it afresh thanks to this stunning 4K digital remaster.

2019 sees MAC host a season of film across the year dedicated to screening cinematic classics in remastered 4K digital prints, offering stunning picture clarity and a chance to see well known features in a completely new light.
