Come along to the Autism Community Café – a welcoming day for anyone in the autistic community, combining food and activities for an unmissable experience. Created by the Imagining Autism arts team at the University of Kent, the café is for autistic children and adults, families, teachers, arts workers and community workers – or anyone who has contact with autistic people in their family, work or play.
A foodie café with a difference, there’ll be a choice of food and activities such as films about the experiences of autistic women, the Imagining Autism arts project, workshops about autism awareness for adults, puppetry classes for children, and conversations with autistic people, their family and friends. It will be a relaxed, entertaining day where you can experience an autism-friendly ‘menu’ of activities – everyone’s welcome!
This Autistic Community Cafe is being developed in partnership with Midlands Arts Centre and Open Theatre Company
