Who is this course for?
This course is specifically targeted at disabled children, aged from 2-3 years, including those who have learning difficulties, physical or sensory impairments. Children need to be accompanied by a parent or carer.
The course is subsidised through the mac makes music programme, which develops opportunities for those who experience barriers to music making activity.
What will you learn on this course?
Children will explore a wide range of musical games, songs and instruments to help develop their musical ability such as rhythm, pitch, aural and vocal skills.
The activities promote movement and co-ordination and can support the development of fine motor skills. Sensory stimulation is provided through listening, playing and identifying different instruments. The musical games also support communication and social skills through team work, sharing and taking turns.
The children will access a range of percussive and tuned instruments and activities will be tailored to their individual needs and abilities. When booking this course, please provide us with as much information as possible about your child so that our music leader can make any necessary preparation or adjustments before the course starts.
All instruments and resources will be provided.
