Get ready for summer and learn the basics of sewing by creating your own summer toy, bag, and decorations from scratch!

What will you learn on this course?

On this fun three-day camp, children will learn how to make their own textile crafts and get creative with fun embroidery designs, patterns, and textures!

Day 1- Making a summer tote bag

Children will sew a tote bag from scratch and personalise It with fun embroidery, colours, and fabrics to match their own style.

Day 2- Sewing a new cuddly toy

On the second day, children will sew their own stuffed toy and they will learn to follow a more advanced pattern. They will get to pick between sewing a stuffed bee, a ladybug, and a smiling daisy!

Day 3- Sew a personalised colourful bunting for your bedroom

Using what they learned during the first two days, the participants will put their new skills to the test by creating their own personalised bunting to decorate their place!

The children will go through the process of cutting and following a pattern, they will learn different stitching techniques and they will get creative with decorating and personalising their new bag, toy, and summer bunting! This camp will also encourage sustainable behaviours by making use of recycled materials and reducing waste while sewing.

The aim of this course is teaching the children basic sewing principles, nurture their creativity and building confidence in their own skills and abilities.

The tutor will make sure to demonstrate and carefully go through each step of the process, assisting the children and making sure everyone’s needs are met.
