Event Information

Three of the Midlands’ most exciting young R’n’B and Hip-Hop artists explore black experiences of mental health using music, beats, lyrics and rhymes.

The Birmingham-based Red Earth Collective work with established and emerging artists, people experiencing mental health problems and mental health professionals, using the arts to challenge mental health stigma in marginalised communities. Since 2003 they have produced and curated more than 30 StereoHype events across the country, working with Black artists to stimulate debate about mental health and well-being in African and Caribbean communities.
