End Of The Century is a lush gay romance for the ages. The film stars Juan Barberini as Ocho, a man from Argentina on vacation in Barcelona, who hooks up for a casual sexual encounter with Javi (Ramon Pujol); however, the men soon realize that they have met before, 20 years earlier in 1999, when they were both in the closet about their sexuality and too afraid to pursue a relationship with each other. Aptly described as ‘an erotic, emotional imagining of a Grindr hookup as memory palace’, this film is sure to be a story that resonates with stories of dating app meets and the shift in gay hookup culture in the last decade.
