MAC and Colour Box are celebrating the amazing works of Julia Donaldson this October, as we screen a pair of films based on two of her most popular books, preceded by a workshop where you get to make your very own Stick Man and witch’s wand!
Room on the Broom tells the story of a kind witch who invites a surprising collection of animals to join her on her broom - much to the frustration of her cat. When the gang saves the witch from a fearsome dragon she rewards them with a magnificent new broom which has room for everyone! Then we join Stick Man on his incredible journey across the seasons as he runs from a playful dog, gets thrown in a river, escapes from a swan’s nest and even ends up on top of a fire. Will he get back to his family in time for Christmas?
This screening will be preceded by a drop-in workshop which will begin at 10am and run for approximately an hour. The screening is expected to begin at approximately 11.15am.
Flatpack Festival's family strand Colour Box is now hosting screenings on the first Saturday of every month at Midlands Arts Centre. Expect a range of film screenings, from classic children's TV programmes to the latest animated features. And every month there'll be creative hands-on workshop activity alongside the screening. See. Explore. Create.
