Rachael Colley will give an illustrated talk about her work and material experiments. Rachel is inspired by circular design and zero waste principles.
The artist's biodegradable jewellery is made from processed food waste and natural organic materials. Rachel challenges the throwaway culture of costume jewellery and reflects on ancient ritual practices. Her work celebrates the nourishment that is provided in many ways, by both the land and craft.
Followed by a panel discussion on the themes of care and repair chaired by ‘field philosopher’ Jeremy Kidwell from the University of Birmingham.
Please note the talk and discussion, along with film screenings, will be live-streamed on the day. Watch them online here.
