Thu 12 April / 1.30pm - 4pm, £11, Ages 11-17 years

Are you an aspiring writer or just can’t get started? Learn some top techniques for creative writing for all levels of experience and confidence.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for children aged 11 to 17 years. It is open to all ability levels and levels of experience. Parents are not expected to accompany children on these courses. All our staff are DBS checked.

The course is accessible for young people of all abilities, however we suggest speaking to us if the young person has a disability that may impact on writing. There is a learning support worker and a parent or carer may assist their child if requires 1-1 support. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to take into account key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

What will you learn on this course?

This half day course will bring some fun into creative writing and provide techniques for how to start a story and develop ideas. Carol’s approach is about building confidence and finding enjoyment as well as embracing the drafting process.  By the end of the morning everyone will have something finished or to that they can take away to work on further.  No matter if you’re an aspiring writer or want to get to grips with where to start, this course will offer something for you.

All course materials are provided. There are no additional costs for this course.
