Learn the basic techniques and rhythms of the traditional Indian dhol drum, building up to a performance level over time.
Who is this course for?
This course is open to participants aged 8 + to adults for beginners and improvers. This is a small group class.
The course may be accessible for people with disabilities. You need good upper body and manual dexterity. Students can be accompanied by their own carer or support worker and the room is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation and needs.
What will you learn on this course?
Learn to play the Indian dhol drum well known for providing the steady rhythm of Bhangra music and dance. In these sessions you will learn basic strokes, Bhangra rhythms, technique building up to a performance level.
In order to progress students are expected to and must be prepared to practise between lessons and need access to an instrument to do so.
Do you need to bring anything?
You need to bring your own dhol drum and sticks.
Are there any additional costs?
A dhol drum and sticks if you do not have these.
Who teaches this course?
Our enhanced Safeguarding Policy recommends that we hold emergency contact details for all learning and participation activities (including courses), for children and young people under 18 years old and for supported or vulnerable adults. These are to be completed and signed by parents/carers except young people aged 16-18 and supported/vulnerable adults who are able to sign for themselves.
Completed forms must be handed in to our Sales and Information Team prior to the start of the course.
