What will you learn on this course?

This course introduces learners to a modern form of etching that involves using electric current to engrave images in to metal. Etching is a drawing process that dates back to the 14th century, originally used to create designs on armour and jewellery. Normally this is carried out through a process of very harmful chemicals that would require specialist equipment making it inaccessible to most. However, Electro-etching uses low voltage to etch your drawings and is completely safe! It’s such a simple, visual and rewarding process it can be carried out in the home environment too. Vanessa has successfully taught this technique in Secondary Schools across Birmingham.
