Print your fabric with ornate carved Indian wooden blocks then turn your fabric into a drawstring or tote bag using simple machine stitching. Add a front pocket blackboard fabric pocket where you can write messages and chalk up your to do list!

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for children aged 6 to 11 years accompanied by their parents or guardians who are looking for an opportunity to enjoy learning together. It is open to all levels. The tutor will teach and demonstrate all the necessary skills and techniques.

The course is accessible for people with disabilities as we can provide a learning support worker, children can work with their parent or carer and the room is wheelchair accessible. The techniques involve arm and shoulder work and require some dexterity in the hands.

What will you learn on this course?

On this one-day course, kids and parents will print a pattern onto fabric, stitch a fabric drawstring or tote bag and add a blackboard fabric pocket. Working together in MAC’s dedicated textiles studio you will learn to sew a bag complete with blackboard pocket that you can take home and write messages on!

You don’t need to bring anything. All materials and equipment is provided.
