Learn how to edit your films using Final Cut Pro X software in this introductory one-day course.  

What will you learn on this course? 

You will learn how to successfully edit films using Final Cut Pro X software.  

During the day you will work on a short film trailer, guided by a professional film maker and editor. 

You will be taken through the editing process from how to plan your project, basic editing, adding sound and graphics and colour correction. You will learn invaluable skills that will help you successfully edit your own home or short films. 

This is a very technical focused course, and will cover the following  

Planning your film editing project - collecting images, sourcing audio and ripping video, preparing and manipulating images  

Importing media 

The basics of film editing 

How to add audio 

Using Wave form Vectorscope and Histogram  

How to add titles and graphics and animating around still images 

The basics of colour correction  

Sharing and exporting your files  

You will be working in Mac’s dedicated media studio, with access to the latest Apple iMac computers with Apple and Adobe cloud software. 

Who is this course for? 

This course is suitable for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to beginners who are interested in learning how to successfully edit their own films and learning colour correction.  

You will need to have a basic working knowledge of iMacs and using Apple OSX. 

The course is ideal for those starting off and useful for learners looking to improve their skills and ensure they are using the programme as efficiently as possible. 

The course is accessible for people with disabilities who are able to use a computer. A carer or support worker may assist learners on this course. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs. 

Do you need to bring anything? 

Please bring an external hard drive with min 16GB of space to save your work.
