Includes in-person Q&A with series creator Jed Mercurio and executive producer Simon Heath

BBC cop series Line Of Duty has been the very definition of a slow burn, gradually building its audience to hit record viewing figures during its recent sixth series. What sometimes gets forgotten is that Line Of Duty is a show with its roots planted firmly in the Midlands - its creator grew up in Staffordshire, its executive producer was born and bred in Birmingham and its very first series was filmed in the second city.

So it seems entirely appropriate to launch the Midlands’ very first TV festival with a special night celebrating a local success story that morphed into an international hit. We’ll be joined by the BAFTA winning and Emmy nominated team of series creator Jed Mercurio and executive producer Simon Heath, who’ll be talking about the genesis of the show, its divisive ending and its possible future in between clips from each of the six series.

MAC’s reopening cinema programme has been generously supported by BFI FAN Covid-19 Resilience fund from the National Lottery, through the BFI Film Audience Fund. Duration includes trailers and adverts. Please note that we do not admit latecomers after the main feature has started and we have a limited food & drink policy. See more information about Relaxed Screenings here.
