Spend five full days making art and craft from different cultures, including African style fabric painting and printing, Aboriginal inspired dot painting, Native American dream catchers and South Asian mehndi patterns. You'll make something new to take home each day, plus working together on larger group pieces.
What will you learn on this course?
This course offers the chance to spend four full days making art and craft from different cultures, including African style fabric painting and printing, Aboriginal inspired dot painting, Native American dream catchers and South Asian mehndi patterns. You'll make something new to take home each day, plus working together on larger group pieces whilst having loads of fun and making new friends.
Learners will gain visual art, design and craft making skills in a range of 2D and 3D techniques and will use of a range of art equipment and materials to gain an understanding of a range of cultural artforms from around the world, developing design and making skills in a range of media.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for children aged 6 to 11 years. It is open to all ability levels and children don’t need previous experience.
All our staff are DBS checked.
The course may be accessible for children with disabilities. A parent or carer may assist their child if additional support is required. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The building is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation and needs.
Age ranges are set carefully to take into account key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
MAC Camps are 3-5 days long courses taking place during half term and full term holidays, offering children the opportunity to take part in an intensive learning experience of various art form. Each day will follow the same routine. This will include 4 hours of workshop activity with mac’s specialist artist tutors and a specially selected series of film screenings linked to the course art form or subject area.
Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack is also included in the course price. Children will be supervised at all times and please ensure that they are dropped off and collected within the designated time slots.

Do you need to bring anything?
Children will need to bring a water based drink, wear suitable clothing that allows free movement. The course might involve use of mediums such as glue, glitter, paint etc. There are no additional costs
