Roll up, roll up! Make your very own circus in a day from paper, card and everyday things. Make a Ferris wheel, trapeze artists, animals and of course a strong man to complete your show stopping creation.
What will you learn on this course?
On this one day workshop children will learn how to make a circus from paper, card and recycled mixed media. They will learn how to sculpt and paint a strong man from paper tubes, complete with bar bells, learn how to make a Ferris wheel, trapeze artists and animals. The day will be fun, learning with other children in a friendly and encouraging environment allowing children to use their imagination and create something to take home to play with.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for children aged 6 to 11 years. It is open to all ability levels and children don’t need previous experience. Parents are not expected to accompany children on these courses. All our staff are DBS checked.
The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. We provide a learning support worker and a parent or carer may assist their child if additional support is required. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.
Age ranges are set carefully to take into account key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.
Do you need to bring anything?
Children need to bring their own lunch to eat on a supervised one hour break. All course materials and equipment are provided.
Children should dress appropriately as some of the visual art workshops can get a bit messy. Children should bring a water based drink.
