What will you learn on this course?
This short course will provide an introduction to the concept of mindfulness, a kind of meditative state and teach techniques to help you achieve this.
Mindfulness encourages people to be present in the here and now, rather than concern themselves with the past, future, or simply functioning on auto pilot. Mindfulness invites people into ‘being’ rather than ‘doing’. To experience the here and now moment-by-moment without judgement, so that life simply becomes a series of moments. This can be achieved by simply paying attention to the breath which creates a psychological state of awareness, the practice of which promotes mindfulness.
On this course you will learn:
- About the ideas of mindfulness
- Meditation techniques to increase health and wellbeing
- How to relax
- To explore mindfulness in movement
- How to be in the moment
