Experience the energy and passion of the totally teenage NYO Inspire Orchestra. With young actors performing a new story centred around a teenage refugee in Britain, by Michael Wickerek, Bartók's lively Concerto for Orchestra will be brought to life.
This performance is the culmination of a 10-day celebration of teenage orchestral music-making on the national level. 70 young musicians from across the UK will join together to form the NYO Inspire Orchestra, continuing the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain’s bold mission to give breakthrough experiences of orchestral music to teenagers of all backgrounds, both as musicians and as audience members. Before this finale at mac Birmingham, the orchestra will tour secondary schools in the West Midlands, giving thousands of their peers a dose of exceptional orchestral music, many of whom will experience live orchestra music for the first time.
