A big hit at last year's festival, London‘s award-winning LGBT literary salon Polari returns to mac birmingham as part of SHOUT Festival. Curated and hosted by author Paul Burston with guest performers representing the best in established and emerging LGBT literary talent, Polari has been described by Sarah Waters as “Always fun, always thought-provoking – a guaranteed good night out”.
This year’s featured performers are Kiki Archer (“Too Late... I Love You’), Paul Burston (‘The Black Path’), Scott Campbell (‘The Strange Adventures of Mavis Street’), VG Lee (‘Mr Oliver’s Object of Desire’) and Karen Mcleod (‘In Search of the Missing Eyelash’)
As part of the performance the Polari Literary Salon are offering a workshop for writers who want to share their work with an audience.
VG Lee, award-winning author of ‘The Comedienne’ and ‘Always you Edina’ will be facilitating a two hour writing workshop on flash fiction or how to write a short, short story! Whether you are a writer of fiction, poetry, memoir or non-fiction (or something in between) you are all welcome.
At the end of the workshop one writer will be chosen to read at the Polari Literary Salon event that evening. Places on the workshop are limited and are priced at £5. Booking in required, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
