Event Information

Explore the ancient art of shadow puppetry and learn how to design detailed puppets with moving joints and parts.

What will you learn on this course?

Shadow puppetry has a long history, originating in Asia during the last millennium BC. In this workshop, children will learn this ancient art as they’ll get to design and make beautifully detailed puppets with moving joints and parts. Once they have made their own unique puppet characters, the children will be able to bring them to life by writing and performing short plays. This workshop will allow participants to explore their creativity and let their imaginations run wild as they create new worlds through the art of puppetry.

MAC’s fun one-day workshops are designed for children to explore a range of creative activities including visual arts, crafts, digital media and performance. The children will be able to take home anything that they have made during the day.
