John Waters’ most family-friendly film inspired the award-winning Broadway musical of the same name. Set in 1962 Baltimore, the comedy stars Ricki Lake, Divine (in her final role), Debbie Harry and Sonny Bono in a tale of a ‘pleasantly plump’ teen whose efforts to land a spot on a popular TV dance show soon give way to working to racially integrate the program.
