Learn the basic strokes, rhythm and speed control of the tabla drums, a tranquil instrument originating from Northern India.

Who is this course for?
This course is open to participants aged 8 + to adults for beginners and improvers. This is a small group class.

The course may be accessible for people with disabilities. You need good upper body and manual dexterity. Students can be accompanied by their own carer or support worker and the room is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation and needs.

What will you learn on this course?
Learn to play the Indian tabla, hand drums played while sitting on the floor. In these sessions you will learn basic strokes and rhythms, building up your playing technique.

In order to progress students are expected and must be prepared to practise between lessons and need access to an instrument to do so.

Do you need to bring anything?
You need to bring your own tabla drums.

Are there any additional costs?
Tabla drums if you do not have these.
