Double bill with Ripsaw Catfish (sax guitar duo) and Richard Foote's Double Trombone Quintet (two trombones + piano, bass and drums)
A two trombone front line is an exciting and slightly terrifying prospect, especially when the two trombonists are Richard Foote and Kieran McCleod, the leading lights of the Young Pilgrims marching band. The quintet is completed by Andy Woodhead on piano, Olie Brice on bass and Andrew Bain on drums. The opening set will be played by the charming duo of Ripsaw Catfish named after a huge earthquake-causing catfish in Japanese mythology; it features Cath Roberts on baritone saxophone and the ever inventive Anton Hunter on guitar.
