Indulge in indigo! Experiment with indigo dye baths and resist techniques to create beautiful fabric samples to take home.

Who is this course for?

This course is for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to beginners and improvers

The course may be accessible for people with disabilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. Students can be accompanied by a Carer or Support worker. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation and needs.

This course involves working at low tables and good dexterity is needed in your hands.

What will you learn on this course?

Indigo is one of the oldest dyes used for colouring fabrics and is still used today to colour jeans.

Come and spend a day experimenting with an indigo dye bath using several interesting resist techniques to create unique samples.

You will produce several beautiful blue samples which can be stitched or embellished into finished pieces at home.

Do you need to bring anything?

All materials will be supplied. However you may wish to bring along your own fabric, lace, handmade paper, a white cotton t-shirt etc. (all clean, white or cream and undyed).

Wear old clothes and bring an apron or something similar.
