Use wet felting, silk fusion, applique, stitches and embellishments to create textile covers to wrap around jam jars to make beautiful tea light holders.

Who is this course for?
This course is for adults aged 18+ years. It is best suited to beginners who are completely new to working with textiles.
The course is accessible for all abilities and experience levels. The course will involve some use of sewing machines and hand stitching. Participants who need one to one support will need to bring a Carer with them. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.
This course may involve working at low tables and periods of standing. Good dexterity is needed in your hands.

What will you learn on this course?
Use wet felting, silk fusion, applique, stitches and embellishments to create textile covers to wrap around jam jars to make beautiful tea light holders.
You will learn how to wet felt a small piece of felt using fibres, how to use silk fibres to make silk paper and how to applique and use the heat gun to cut areas away.
Learn to use wet felting, silk fusion and applique techniques, stitches and embellishments to make ornate covers to wrap around jam jars to create beautiful tea light holders.
During the session you will use felt fibres to make wet felt, use silk fibres to make silk paper and learn techniques using a heat gun to craft and cut away areas of the fabrics to create patterns.
The course is delivered through a mix of demonstrations and one-to-one teaching. 
Please note that finished tea light holders will not be heat proof. Please use battery powered tea lights inside your jar.

Do you need to bring anything?
Please wear old clothes, a waterproof apron and a battery powered tea light to test your finished item. Please bring along empty jam jars to cover and any beads or embellishments you may wish to use.
All other materials and equipment is provided.

Are there any additional costs?
You will need to provide the items listed above at your own expense.
