Feel the summer vibes with this fun tropical pottery course. In this course you will make bright, exotic summer pottery for your home. 

What will you learn on this course? 

During the course students will learn how to make 3D exotic and tropical themed pottery to decorate your home inspired.  

Get tropical with your creation, sculpt yourself a pineapple tea light lantern, or a sun shaped platter. Go somewhere exotic with clay! 

You will explore different ceramic techniques such as hand slab building, coiling and pinching to form your summery sculptures, then paint them with coloured slips to make your tropical pottery a perfect addition to your home. There will be emphasis in this course on developing your observational skills and translating these into more personal representations of your choice of summer inspired sculpture. You will be encouraged to experiment and explore different approaches that will help you to find your own artistic methods and style. 

Who is this course for? 

This introductory course is for adults aged 18+ years and is designed for all levels, beginners, improvers and advanced practitioners as our tutor will tailor the class to your skill level. 

This course is perfect for students interested in natural forms and learning to sculpt them in clay. 

The course may be accessible for people with disabilities. You do need dexterity in your hands to work with the clay and the tools. Students may bring their own carer or support worker. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs. 

Do you need to bring anything? 

MAC will provide equipment and materials for participants, although attendees are encouraged to bring their own tools where possible to minimise the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Are there any additional costs? 

The course price includes all materials and firing of your work.
