Event Information

Do you love superheroes? Music? Animals? Whatever it is, you can make a zine to show your appreciation! Take a trip to the 90’s and make your own zine in this fun one-day workshop

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for children aged 6 to 11 years. It is open to all ability levels and children don’t need previous experience. Parents are not expected to accompany children on these courses. All our staff are DBS checked.

The course is accessible for children of all abilities who can participate in practical art and craft activities. We can provide a learning support worker and a parent or carer may assist their child if required. Carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending a course to provide support. The room is wheelchair accessible.

Age ranges are set carefully to take into account key age developments, materials being used and course stimulus. It is very important that age ranges are not too large or across key stages and therefore need to be adhered to.

What will you learn on this course?

Taking inspiration from the tradition of self-published fanzines you will learn how to create your own handmade magazine or book about any topic you choose. Whether it’s unicorns or wrestling that takes your fancy (perhaps it’s a bit of both!) you can make a zine to reflect you! The important thing is that your Zine expresses your own ideas and feelings about the topic you choose, even if it is wrestling unicorns!

On this course you will learn a range of hands on, practical design and layout techniques that will help to share what it is you want to say. By the end of the workshop you will have made your very own zine to show off to friends and family.

Do you need to bring anything?

You don’t need to bring anything. All materials and equipment is provided.

Are there any additional costs?

There are no additional costs. The course price includes all materials.
