Refugee Week: Middle Eastern Music Sessions

Presented by Ceol Creatives, join us for our Middle Eastern Music Sessions – a welcoming space where people come together through music, culture, and shared experience.

Our sessions celebrate the rich and diverse musical traditions of the Middle East, while also creating space for cultural exchange. It’s an opportunity to learn from one another, share stories and sounds from different backgrounds, and experience the feeling of “home” through music – whether it’s your own or someone else’s. We sit in a semi-circle with our instruments. We might share a solo or jam along to a maqam/dastgah.

Ceol Creatives have a few ‘classics’ that they like to play every time, and have scores ready for dot-readers. Inspired by the spirit of Irish traditional sessions, these gatherings are all about participation, connection, and creativity. Whether you are an experienced musician or simply love music, you are invited to be part of something special. Bring your instrument, your voice, or just your curiosity.

Expect an open, relaxed atmosphere where people can join in, try out instruments, sing along, or simply listen and enjoy. No pressure, no expectations – just music, community, and connection. Whether you want to play, sing, or just soak up the music, there’s a place for you here.
