MAC and Bedlam Arts and Mental Health Festival 2019 have commissioned artist Jenna Naylor to transform the Community Gallery into a menagerie of strange creatures drawn directly onto the walls. Taking her inspiration from botanical illustration, her drawings are a hybrid of scientific study and fantastical science fiction.
Jenna’s commission provides a starting point for a growing collection of drawings contributed by participants of workshops at the Uffculme Centre and people joining us on workshops at MAC.
In response to this year’s Big Draw theme Drawn to Life: Creativity and Wellbeing, Jenna will explore mark making and drawing as a life-enhancing tool and will lead several free workshops where you can contribute your own creature to the growing display.
Feeling stressed or anxious? Drawing can have a very therapeutic effect- so join us at one of our workshops for a cuppa and some drawing fun.
