200 local children enjoy Cinderella: A Fairytale at mac courtesy of local business We Clean

Over 200 children from three schools located in Birmingham and Solihull  enjoyed a Christmas treat at mac birmingham, courtesy of local cleaning business - We Clean.  Children and teachers from St Francis RC School in Handsworth, Selly Oak Trust School, Selly Oak and Monkspath Junior and Infant School in Solihull enjoyed a special premiere school performance of Cinderella: A Fairytale at mac on Thursday 3 December. The sponsorship worth £3,000, will pay for the performance tickets, in addition, We Clean provided a free pencil case for all the children, with an activity book provided free of charge from mac to ensure it was an afternoon to remember.

With a relationship that has spanned over 10 years with mac birmingham and a wish to give something back to the areas in which they operate, We Clean decided to link with local schools in their portfolio to offer an experience like no other. For some of the children this was their first visit to mac and an opportunity to enjoy an original, quirky award winning show with a feisty and independent Cinderella, live music and puppetry.  This is the first time we clean has worked with the schools in this way and it is hoped this will continue in the future.

Paul Concannon, Co-Director at We Clean said: ‘As a thriving business we are keen to support our local business community. Our partnership with mac has enabled us to offer local children an extraordinary day out. I still remember my first visit to the theatre as a child, it was a magical experience. I’m really looking forward to seeing the excited faces of the children and I hope the performance is one they will remember in years to come too.’

Mark Humphreys, Head at St Francis RC School said: ‘We’re thankful to We Clean for offering this opportunity to our children. Each child attending has shown exemplary behaviour and attendance throughout the term. Cultural experiences are so important for children, enriching education and bringing enjoyment in equal measure. I’m sure their visit will be remembered and discussed excitedly on their return to school.’

Nicola Saunders, Fundraiser, at mac added: ‘We’re grateful for the gift that we clean is providing to local schoolchildren - the first partnership of its kind for mac. We hope that their example will encourage other businesses to give in the same way. As an organisation we are keen to share cultural experiences with as many people as possible and we believe our partnership with we clean will go some way to achieving this goal.’
