mac birmingham appoints New Chief Executive and Artistic Director

mac is delighted to announce the appointment of Deborah Kermode as its next CEO and Artistic Director.

Deborah Kermode, who is currently Deputy Director of Ikon Gallery in Birmingham, will be only the 7th person in mac’s 54 year history to helm the prestigious venue, when Dorothy Wilson MBE FRSA steps down after 26 years at the charity.

mac’s Chair, Jonnie Turpie MBE, said of the appointment:
“The search to succeed Dorothy, who is such a significant leader in the cultural and arts industry was always going to be a challenge. Upon the announcement of her appointment Ms Kermode said,

This is a wonderful opportunity to join the talented team of mac birmingham at one of Britain’s most significant art centres and I look forward to playing a pivotal role in driving forward this ambitious organisation.”
