Calling all metalheads! Raid your wardrobes for Ben Venom!

Wed 20 February 2019

Have you got old metal band T-shirts you no longer wear taking up space in the wardrobe?

Ahead of his exhibition here in June, in partnership with Home of Metal, Ben is creating a new textile work that will include T-shirts collected from metal fans based in the region. This is your chance to recycle that well-loved metal T-shirt full of memories into a work of art!

Have you got T-shirts from Birmingham or West Midlands-based metal bands that you might part with?

Acclaimed American artist Ben Venom works with re-purposed materials such as T-shirts to create textile-based works of art. He is known for contrasting counterculture components of gangs, punk/metal music and the occult, with the comforts of domesticity.

To take part, simply send your T-shirts to MAC at the address below before 17 March 2019. Include your name and contact details, plus any details you have about the T-shirts you are sending (why you love the band, where you bought it, how long you have had it etc) and in return you will be invited to the exhibition launch and receive a special gift from Ben as a thank you.
