Family Highlights for October Half-Term at MAC

If you’re a little frazzled trying to think about what you can do to get the kids out of the house over October half-term then look no further...

There's lots of family-friendly performances and cinema screenings happening at MAC during the holidays, and we've picked a few highlights that are guaranteed to entertain the little ones and provide heaps of fun for all! 

Goat & Monkey Theatre presents The Pirate Cruncher

Sat 26 October - Sun 27 October | From £14 | Ages 5-11

A rollicking adventure, told through thrilling action, daft nonsense, stirring shanties and the weirdest of mechanical contraptions. A family show, it's adapted from the best-selling book by Jonny Duddle and scored by multi award winning folk musician Jon Boden.

When her tavern is raided by Captain Purplebeard and his dastardly cut-throat crew, plucky child-inventor extraordinaire Emily determines to take revenge, by sending the pirates on a wild goose chase for treasure.

Little Angel Theatre presents We're Going on a Bear Hunt

 In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Michael Rosen’s beloved book, Little Angel’s puppetry productions portrays a family going on an expedition of a lifetime – running down the grassy bank, wading through the cold river, squelching over the oozy mud, stumbling into the dark forest, then peering into a cave… what will they find there?

Dora & The Lost City of Gold

Sun 27 October – Fri 1 November | From £8.50 | Rated PG

Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever - high school. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Pena) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.

Indie Kids Disco

Sat 2 November | From £7 | Perfect for children aged 4-12 years, but all ages welcome | Babes in arms go free

An event for Indie Kids and their kids to rock together to tunes that’ll make you want to live forever! This daytime disco will feature a live DJ and plenty of additional, fun activities. Be prepared to get primal and scream, dance and rock out at an event which promises to be as much fun for adults as it will be for the children.
