MAC Makes Music is an award-winning programme dedicated to providing music-making opportunities for young people with additional needs and limited access to music education. We’re privileged to be working with lots of inspiring children and music leaders, here at MAC and in schools and pupil referral units across the West Midlands.
We feel very strongly about inclusivity and making sure all young people have the opportunity to participate in a creative music-making that puts individual needs and interests at the very centre. Our music leaders are dedicated to helping young people develop their composition and performance skills, which has remarkable effects on their confidence, social interaction and general wellbeing. We’re also interested in ways that we can use technology to improve access to music, so we’re excited by the innovative approaches our music leaders take.
