Covid-19 Update - Cancelled/Postponed Events Information

Tue 15 September 2020

As a direct result of the impact of the Covid-19 crisis, MAC has taken the difficult decision to remain closed to the public until 2021.

The safety of our staff, audiences and artists is paramount, and until we are able to demonstrate that we can operate safely and trade successfully as an independent charity during the on-going crisis, our doors must regretfully remain closed.

We will be postponing or cancelling all events and courses across our public programme until the end of 2020, and where possible will be rescheduling events for future dates. Please see our list of events affected below.

Please read our full statement here.

Customer Service Enquiries

Our Customer Service team will be contacting bookers in due course to notify them of their refund options. Customers will be notified via email or telephone regarding changes to our programme.

Please see our FAQs below for further information.

We will be extending all credit that expired from 1 January - 30 June 2020 or is due to expire from 1 July onwards for at least 24 months. Please bear with us during this busy period as we make all necessary communications.

For urgent enquiries regarding bookings, please email or call 0121 446 3232.

Due to limited staff, our phone lines are very busy. In the event we are unable to take your call immediately, please leave us a voice message with your enquiry and contact details, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Our phone lines are open Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Customer FAQs

  • When will I receive my refund options for my cancelled/postponed event?

We are currently working with a very reduced staff – our Customer Service team are actively contacting all bookers for cancelled/postponed events with refund options via email or telephone. Thank you for your patience during this busy time.

  • What are my refund options for cancelled or postponed events?

If you are unable to join us for a postponed date, or if an event has been cancelled, bookers will be given the option to receive either a full refund, credit to their MAC account valid for at least 24 months, or the option to make a donation to MAC for the full or partial cost of their tickets.

Customers will be able to view their MAC credit and date of expiry by logging into their account on our website in due course.

  • I am concerned for MAC’s future as an arts centre. How can I support MAC during this time?

MAC is a charity that relies on vital support from our visitors, audiences, trusts and businesses. Without you, the breadth of work in our venue, impact on communities and nurturing future artists would not be possible.

We extend our warmest thanks to our audiences that have chosen to donate a portion of their refund to MAC, transfer their ticket to a future date, or make a one off donation to us whilst we are closed.

You can find out ways to help us whilst our building is closed here, including information on how to become a MAC Supporter from just £25 per year.

  • I have booked a hires event at MAC for 2020 – what is the refund process?

Currently, all hires bookings for MAC will be cancelled until the end of 2020 and customers will be notified in due course. Our Customer Service team will be contacting individual customers to discuss the cancellation of their booking and information on rescheduling their events at MAC in the future.

  • How can I collect my course artwork created at MAC and left on-site?

We will be releasing details for our Learning & Participation customers regarding the safe collection of artwork remaining on-site in the coming weeks. Thank you for your patience during this busy time.

  • How can I stay up-to-date with MAC’s latest updates?

You can subscribe to our mailing list here to stay in the loop with all things MAC. All updates and latest news will be announced via our website, social media and newsletter.

If your question has not been answered in the FAQs above, or if you’d like to still speak to a member of our team, please email or call 0121 446 3232.

Our phone lines are extremely busy, so please leave us a voicemail with your contact information if you are unable to reach us on your first attempt and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
