Out of the Deep Blue: Make Your Own Puppet @ Home - Tutorial 3

Available until the end of September 2020, 'Out of the Deep Blue' Web Series is our partner Autin Dance Theatre's brand new digital programme featuring unique and practical creative step-by-step tutorials to 'Make Your Own Puppet @ Home' out of reusable household items!

We'll be releasing a series of five short films of Eko, a sea-giant puppet, telling inspiring and climate change awareness stories to children and young people.

Tutorial 3: Make a beautiful butterfly

Puppeteer Ben Thompson shows you how to make the next puppet in our web series designed by Hugh Purves! 🦋 A beautiful butterfly!

You will need: 

  • 6 x lollipop sticks 
  • 5 x hairpins 
  • 2 x 2p coins 
  • Thin Card (cereal box) 
  • 1 x sheet of A4 paper 
  • Sharp pencil 
  • Blu Tack 
  • Scissors
  • Sticky Tape 
  • Glue 
  • String 
  • Plus paint/pens/coloured paper for decoration!
