Storytelling with Percy the Park Keeper

Free drop-in event | MAC Foyer | Sun 24 Oct | 10am – 2pm

Meet the star of MAC’s Christmas show, Percy The Park Keeper, at MAC this Sunday as he reads Nick Butterworth’s classic tale One Snowy Night for children.

As Percy goes to sleep after a hard day sweeping leaves, he’s woken by a knock at his door. Who could it be on a night like this?

It’s Squirrel, cold and shivering on the porch and looking for somewhere warm to sleep. There’s nowhere warmer than Percy’s bed – but it soon becomes a fur and feather-filled squeeze as all the freezing park animals come in from the cold. Fox, Badger, Hedgehog and friends warm their collective paws (and claws) in Percy’s home until they, too, are disturbed by a little something burrowing into the hut from below!

One Snowy Night Mask Making

Free drop in activity for families | MAC Foyer | All Ages | Sun 24 Oct | 12-3pm

Join MAC Artist Tutor Ana Petrovici and have fun making a One Snowy Night inspired mask!

During this drop-in workshop, families will have the opportunity to bring their favourite characters from “One Snowy Night” to life. Children will get to craft their own fun stick-puppet and take it home for hours of puppet show entertainment!

If puppetry isn’t really your thing, we got you covered! Additionally, you can choose to turn yourself into everyone’s favourite furry friends: Rabbit and Fox! Using a vast range of crafty materials, you can make your own personalised mask and have lots role-playing fun!

The tutor will make sure to demonstrate and carefully go through each step of the process, assisting the participants and making sure everyone’s needs are met.

Tickets For Slot Machine Theatre’s beautiful adaptation of One Snowy Night are on sale now. Enjoy gorgeous puppetry and jolly songs to sing along to, helping you get into the Christmas spirit.
