Our programme encourages audiences to reflect on sustainability, whilst actively promoting green initiatives. Below is a taster of the things we do.
MAC is now a member of the Gallery Climate Coalition and will work with them to mitigate the environmental impact of our exhibitions programme.
MAC hosted its first Eco Festival in August 2016, offering free workshops and activities throughout the day. Local organisations were on hand to help the public increase their eco friendly credentials. With EcoFest being an annual event, we aim to make it bigger and better every year.
EcoFest is a free annual event where we showcase MAC’s environmental work and invite other local organisations. At our most recent EcoFest (2021), we were joined by BBC star & horticulturist Alys Fowler, deaf artist Olivier Jamin as well as multiple local organisations for stalls and talks. Over 3.5k people attended over the day.
We were extremely grateful to have been supported with primary funding from The great Big Green Week.
