We are thrilled to welcome cinematic icon Pam Grier to MAC on Sunday 11 September.
Pam Grier is an actor whose career broke down boundaries for Black actors thanks to her work in the early 70s on a number of so-called ‘Blaxploitation’ films, including the one-two punch of Coffy (1973) and Foxy Brown (1974).
Since then, she’s gone on to work with directors like Jane Campion, the Wu Tang Clan’s RZA and Quentin Tarantino, and had a long running role on the groundbreaking TV series The L Word. Pam will be introducing a special 25th anniversary screening of Jackie Brown, as well as talking about her career more in-depth after a rare screening of the inimitable Coffy.
In association with BFI and Cine-Excess.
