Sense and mac birmingham have embarked on a new arts partnership to coincide with the development of TouchBase Pears. Located just a few minutes from the TouchBase Pears site in Selly Oak, mac is a bustling arts centre with world-class facilities, extensive networks, resources and artists.
Following the completion of TouchBase Pears in Spring 2017, Sense and mac will deliver an exciting programme of arts workshops, installations and performances at both venues.
The partnership, entitled: 'Sensibility', will have significant regional and national impact, and will aim to lead and champion arts sector approaches with regard to accessible and inclusive arts. mac is keen to further develop its programme of activity for people who are deafblind and have complex needs, working closely with Sense to ensure they refine their own policies on inclusivity.
Sense and mac believe the Sensibility collaboration will bring together new audiences and participants, raising the visibility of artwork created by people who Sense supports, and helping the arts sector to gain a better understanding of key issues around accessibility and inclusivity.
