I am a printed textile designer and I create hand silk-screen printed fabrics and products for home ware, small accessories and gifts. Equally inspired by Scandinavian illustration, mid-century textiles and British vernacular arts and crafts; I delight in simple forms and I am driven by a love for playfulness, narrative and naivety.
I studied Textile Design At Nottingham Trent University and graduated with a Masters in the same subject from Birmingham City University in 2013.
Since graduating, I have set up my own business under the guidance of the Crafts Council as part of their prestigious ‘Hothouse’ programme and have created an exclusive series of hand printed cushions for Heal’s S/S 2015 collections.
I love feeling a part of a wider community here at mac birmingham. I believe that by teaching and informing others, I will never cease to learn new skills, which will enable me to drive my own practice forward. mac offers the perfect creative environment in which I can do this.
Had an amazing time at a workshop with Rosie Moss today, experimental textile printing techniques. Learnt loads and can't wait to practice some more :) Thank you Rosie!
