About Babywearing Dance (CSC169)
Join us for a unique movement class for parents with babies in slings to rediscover your
rhythm, body and movement through dance!
What will you learn on this course?
Through a somatic approach to movement, participants will be guided on a journey to discover their own authentic movement. Contemporary dance and improvisation elements will form the basis for preparing the body for this discovery. We will provide a welcoming and soothing environment where every parent can connect with the baby while enjoying the freedom of movement.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a complete beginner, this class will provide a supportive environment that encourages self-expression and quality time with your child. All levels of experience are welcome, and our aim is to make everyone feel comfortable and included.
Our classes provide adults with more than just physical benefits. They also offer emotional and social enrichment, helping them create lasting memories and friendships. For babies, the classes provide a sense of calm and security through movement and close contact with their caregivers. They will experience the pleasant rocking that cradled them during pregnancy and skin-to-skin massages, which stimulate proprioceptive mechanisms—the beginning of knowledge of oneself, one's body, and one's boundaries.
Cristina is an independent choreographer, performer and contemporary dance teacher living between Germany and the United Kingdom.
